十日，星期五，晴。 大多数同时代的人会笑我，会诽谤我所说的和所做的一切事情。但是时间是最好的公证人。我只寄希望于后代的人们。让那些当代英雄们去逞英雄。等着吧，昔日的积雪是会消融的。 It's a long time since the publishing of my last article in the weekly Peishin（北新）; retired from all the worldly activities, and observing allthe ups and downs of the day with an extremely cold attitude, one is easily to become fastidious; such is the mood of my mind of late. No wonder, then, that most of my contemporaries should laugh at me, and scandalize every thing that'ssaid or acted by me. But time is the best judge.I have hope only in the generations to come. Before the old-year-days expired, I would stick to my work The Mirage.。 Saturday, January 11th Snowed last night. Being stuffed with fine, white grains everywhere, the interior of the house looks brighter even than sunny days. Tired of reading and writing, I went outfor the whole afternoon. Visited some frequented places, bought 3books by 3 not well known authors. Sunday, Jan 12th, Fine Not got up till 11 a.m., a student came tosee me. We talked about sundry topics on the new literature of China's to come. Went to dinner at friend's home, there passed the whole day in idle gossiping. |
